The Ride of A Lifetime: Review

This is the first book I finished in 2020. I really enjoyed this listen. It's a great leadership book and gives the background for how Bob Iger learned the leadership lessons that he did. The last few chapters I believe are super important.  I learned some interesting facts about Disney, how it chooses to acquire other companies, how the process of building a theme park works, and info on how it handles tragedies. It was really interesting.

Interview with the Robot: Review

Here is my review for Interview with the Robot First I should say this is an Audible original. I really, really liked this story. I thought it was going to be a fluff piece; it was not. It was much more in-depth than I ever could have expected. Maybe I didn't read the synopsis closely. Maybe it didn't say. But, this is a book that will stay with me for a while. It handles complex issues like child welfare, artificial intelligence, family dynamics, power, and the meaning of childhood. It's a quick listen, but important. It is full cast audio. It's more like being in a movie than like an audiobook.

The Starless Sea: Review

I give the overall book 5 stars, but the audiobook only 4 stars because it was really hard to follow the interwoven stories during narration. This is a book that will stay with you for a long time. The characters and interwoven stories remind us what it is to be human and how the mark of a story is change. I'm still thinking about this book two weeks later. I have a feeling I will be thinking about it for a long time. I am going to get the physical book because a. It's beautiful b. I want to be able to go back to it c. I may get the ebook as well Read this. You will not be disappointed.

Loveboat, Taipei Review

Here is my review of Loveboat, Taipei: I've never been so torn about a book before. Torn in the fact that I was so emotional the WHOLE story. I wanted the characters to succeed so badly. I wanted them to get what they wanted and live the lives they dreamed of. The "american dream" is different for everyone. I know I'm extremely privileged to have grown up not worrying about what my family gave up for me to have a better life. I know that I cannot understand that mindset. I loved this story and it was an important one, especially for people like me. It also handled relationships in a way that makes sense for 18 year olds on their way to college. Thank you to the author for addressing feminine sexuality in a way that makes it accessible and for the breaking of stereotypes she does throughout the book. It was lovely to see. Read this book. I loved it. I should mention, I listened to this book. The narration was wonderful. This is especially helpful as I do not sp...
