Review: Capture Your Style

Review: Capture Your Style: Transform Your Instagram Photos, Showcase Your Life, and Build the Ultimate Platform by Aimee Song 1. It's pink. I actually found out about this book since I bought her second book- which is not pink.  2. I was surprised by how much I learned about instagram and it's inner workings- although they change often- which she hits upon.  3. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this read.  It's a relatively quick read. I got the most from the chapter about using instagram for your business and how instagrammer's use different apps to make their pictures look cohesive. Since my account mostly shows my dog and weird colorado weather I'm not sure it's applicable. But it was good to learn. The pictures are lovely, the content is solid- an overall good read

I joined Scribd...my first thoughts.

In many of the book groups I'm a part of on FB there is talk about Scribd, especially for those of us who mainly listen to audiobooks.  I saw a great deal right after new years day to get Scribd for under $8 a month. I jumped on it. I've had it for 2 weeks now and I'm so very glad that I signed up for it. Books that I have waited MONTHS for from the library are available immediately. There are audiobooks GALORE. It's like having every library book immediately available. This doesn't mean I'll stop using my library, but it's easy to just hop on the app and pull up a book to listen to while I scroll through IG/FB and sometimes I'm so caught up in the book, that those apps never get opened. I read somewhere that if we opened a book every time we went to open an app- the average American would be able to read 200 books a year. I'm giving it a shot- kind of. In the first two weeks I've saved somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 books/audiobooks tha...

ARC's I need to review

ARC- Advanced Reader Copy So for the past 2 years or so, I've been reviewing audiobooks for publishers and authors. For the first time I got a physical ARC from Harpers Collins Publishing US and author Snowden Wright It's called American Pop and I'm so excited to read it. I also have : - Wilmot's Words: Sports Psychology Advice for School Athletes, Their Coaches and Parents by Greg Wilmot -Alien Prince's Mermaid: A Sci-Fi Alien Fairy Tale Romance Book 2 by Zara Zenia Both are audiobooks. I'm about halfway through Wilmot's Words. It's an enjoyable listen and speaks to me as I have a degree in Sport Psychology.

Review: Make Money Online Audiobook

Review: Make Money Online: Twelve Proven Methods to Earn Passive Income and Work from Anywhere in the World by: Max Lane If you have ever been interested in ways to make money online, this is a great first step. It is clear, concise, and laid out in basic steps that are easy to follow. The narrator tends to be monotone but that doesn't detract from the content delivery. The content is delivered quickly and since it is an audiobook, you can relisten at any time. I knew some of these methods and others were brand new to me. What is it they say? Learn something new everyday? This book will help you do just that. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review

Review: The Hazel Wood

Review: The Hazel Wood This was my first read of 2019 and I don't know exactly how to describe how I feel about this book. It is wonderfully written. The stories within stories are fantastic. The plot is incredible. The characters feel real. The settings are intricate.. Normally a book with those characteristics would keep me glued inside the story until I finished. Not the Hazel Wood.  It freaked me the hell out. To the point where I didn't keep it in our bedroom. I wouldn't read it before bed. I'd stop reading it at least 3 hours before bedtime. Why? It freaked me the hell out. I don't know about you, but this book is full of characters I do NOT want visiting my dreams.  All in all a fantastically written book- that I hear is being made into a movie. Best of luck to everyone who goes to see it, this girl will not be one of them. I give it 4.5 stars. I think this will be a good "gifting" book to someone who loves dark fairy tales.

Review: The Dirty One's

Review: The Dirty One's by JA Huss This was by FAR my favorite Romance read of 2018. The author does a great job of making you think that you have the story figured out and then Boom! Plot twist!. I devoured this book in a day because I just could not put it down. The characters sucked me in. The story held me rapt with attention. If you want romance with a twist...The Dirty One's is for you. I can't tell you how much I loved this book. I was getting a little BLAH in the romance  genre, until I saw this pop up. I immediately bought it and holy crap you guys. Once I started it, I could not put it down. It was incredible. I know it's one I'll read again because I don't think I picked up every hint/ plot twist because I was reading so fast to solve the mysteries.  Your options are Kindle/Paperback. To be honest, I might buy the paperback I liked the book so much.  Happy Reading!

January 7,2019

If you're like me you're already a little worn out on this year. Resolutions yay! Most people won't keep them. Most meaning 95% of people. Anywho... I signed up for the Goodreads challenge again this year. I have committed to reading 40 books. I set it this way so I can really enjoy what I'm reading. We are 7 days in to the new year and I have not bought a single book/ebook/audiobook this month. I'm reading what I own. It really hasn't been hard. Currently reading: Rice, Noodle, Fish + Harry Potter and the Sorcerers's Stone Currently listening to: The Kiss Quotient I have a shipment of books I bought last month coming on Wednesday. :) and my book subscription box should be here today. An always growing TBR is a sign of a healthy mind. Happy New Year everyone! To another year of fantastic reads.
