Open Book by Jessica Simpson Review Before starting this book all I knew about Jessica Simpson was: 1. Pop star in the 2000's 2. Chicken of the sea incident 3.Dukes of Hazzard 4. Clothing Line- I own a dress by her Like many people I assumed these things were all there was to know about her. Her life affects mine exactly 0%. Her memoir blew me away. It is one of my top listens of the year. Jessica narrates her memoir and that adds a dimension of authenticity to it that I appreciate. This is not a happy go lucky book. It's her story of growing up, failing, choosing herself first, relationships, and dealing with addiction. It is DEEP. I want you to read it. I got a lot more out of this than I had planned. I thought it was going to be a light memoir. Nope. Wrong. DEEP memoir. Personal memoir. Dealing with dark shit memoir. All of us can see ourselves in her. We have shared experiences.
